Weekend adventures: Less Than Jake, Gardens, and Snow
Sometimes you just need a change of scenery, and last weekend, Tucson was calling our name. With one of Brandon’s favorite bands, Less Than Jake, playing in town, we figured it was the perfect excuse to switch things up and escape Phoenix for a bit.
On our first day in Tucson, we got up bright and early (like, really early) to catch the sunrise over Mt. Lemmon. There’s something magical about watching the first light hit those desert peaks. The view was absolutely worth the early wake-up call.
Next up, we visited a new spot for us: the Tucson Botanical Gardens. We love exploring botanical gardens (after all we did get married at one), and Tucson’s didn’t disappoint with its variety of cacti and some pretty cool sculptures scattered throughout. We loved the energy of the garden.
After the gardens, we took a scenic drive up Mt. Lemmon, climbing all the way to 9,000 feet. Arizona’s weather has a way of surprising you—last week it was 100 degrees, but during our drive, it was a rainy 65. And at the summit? A frigid 35 degrees with SNOW! Talk about weather whiplash.
The weekend wrapped up with the Less Than Jake concert, and it was an absolute blast. We got to hang out with friends, enjoy live music, and soak in all the good vibes.
Tucson, you were the perfect reset. Until next time!
